Prior to my recent move to Detroit, I worked as a licensed investigator specializing in criminal defense in Portland, Oregon. I have worked on hundreds of state and federal cases including all manner of major felonies, sexual assault, major assaults, murder (including death penalty cases), and manslaughter at both trial and post-conviction. I love what I do and have been fortunate to work with many talented attorneys and interesting clients.
I have been curious about other people my whole life. I can talk to anybody, and there is no one with whom I cannot find common ground. I am proud of my working-class roots. I spent years working as a bartender, volunteering as a Sexual Assault Advocate, and then earning a Bachelor of Science in Economics at Portland State University before I found my way to investigative work.
The people who know me consider me fair, reasonable, and easy to get along with. I excel at handling difficult conversations with decor and sensitivity. I strive to be courteous to the communities where I conduct my investigations. I am as comfortable working independently as I am being part of a team. I am discreet and reliable. I present well in court, and I am calm and articulate when taking the stand. I am handy to have around for trial prep. I enjoy writing, research, photography, and video editing. Subsequently, I can produce dynamic investigative and mitigation reports. I like technology and keep current on social media and preservation techniques. But also, there is no substitute for showing up and knocking on a door.
When I am not working, I enjoy exploring Detroit through photography, spending time with my senior Yorkie Lucy, watching foreign films, and composing electronic music.
